How vetting works
At DeveloperBay, vetting is our way of helping ensure confidence and trust in the developers and agencies listed on our platform.
When a profile is vetted, it means we’ve taken the time to independently review and validate aspects of their past work and professionalism. This helps potential clients make more informed decisions — and gives vetted developers the opportunity to stand out.
What We Look At
We don’t just take a quick glance at a portfolio — we take a closer look at things that matter, such as:
-
Project Quality: We review real-world work the developer or agency has delivered. This might include websites, apps, or software projects that showcase their capabilities.
-
Code Samples (if available): We look for clean, maintainable code that reflects best practices, especially when code is publicly available or voluntarily submitted.
-
Communication & Professionalism: We consider how clearly and professionally the developer communicates — whether in writing, during calls, or via client reviews.
-
Client Feedback: When possible, we take into account what past clients have said, especially around responsiveness, delivery, and overall experience.
Note: Vetting is not about harshly judging or scoring someone’s skill. Our goal is to verify key aspects of their work and conduct, not to rank or critique them. It’s about helping great developers and agencies put their best foot forward, not gatekeeping.
Why It Matters
For clients, it provides extra confidence. For developers, it’s a way to stand out and show you’re serious.
We believe good work — and clear communication — deserves recognition. That’s what our vetting process aims to do.
